5 natural masks for gorgeous hair! – L Artisan Brossier

Although summer is over, your hair has been exposed to the damaging effects of the sun, sea and heat. Have you thought about giving your hair a special treatment to revitalise it? It's essential to give your hair a little extra attention. Are you hesitating between expensive products or those with uncertain compositions, and natural, simple and economical homemade solutions? Why not start making your own hair care products using natural ingredients such as essential oils, fruit or even products from your kitchen?

NB: Essential oils are not recommended for children, pregnant or breast-feeding women, the elderly or people with chronic conditions. Consult a health professional before using them.

Here are 5 recipes for homemade masks to give your hair a boost and restore its vitality!

Mask for dry, damaged and brittle hair

Heat 2 tablespoons of rice in 4 glasses of water for 30 minutes. This mixture will strengthen and soften your hair while restoring its shine. Once cooked, blend the rice and water, then add the oil of your choice: coconut oil to nourish and prevent frizz, castor oil to promote growth, or olive oil to repair and prevent split ends. Apply to damp hair before shampooing, leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse. This mask can be kept in a cool place for a week and can be used for around 4 treatments.

Purifying mask for oily hair

Mix 6 tablespoons of white clay with water to make a paste, then add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of jojoba oil. This mask regulates sebum production while purifying the scalp without drying it out. Apply to the scalp, leave for 15 minutes then rinse. Be careful not to apply more than 2 applications per month, to avoid unbalancing your scalp.

Conditioning mask for coloured hair

In a bowl, mix an egg with softened shea butter and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (argan, sweet almond or jojoba). Avoid coconut oil as it may cause your colour to fade. Apply this mask to dry hair, strand by strand, concentrating on the ends. Leave on for 1 hour, then rinse with cold water and shampoo. This treatment deeply moisturises and strengthens colour. Use once a week for radiant hair.

Repairing mask for dry, split ends

Mix 1 tablespoon of shea butter, 1 teaspoon of argan oil and 1 teaspoon of aloe vera until creamy. Warm the mixture between your hands before applying to your lengths, concentrating on the ends. Wrap your hair in a warm towel or cling film and leave on for 1 hour. Rinse with cold water and then wash your hair. This mask deeply nourishes and repairs hair. You can apply it every week, depending on your hair's needs.

Anti-dandruff mask

Mix 3 tablespoons of green clay with 10 drops of patchouli essential oil (or lavender, tea tree, etc.), then add warm water to obtain a fluid paste. Apply to the scalp, massaging gently, leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Massage into the lengths when rinsing for complete purification. Use this mask once a month to purify and soothe scalps prone to dandruff and itching.

For an even more sublime result, don't forget to use the best-selling hair brush of the moment to gently detangle and smooth your hair after each treatment. Your hair will never look so healthy and radiant!
